TRANSMISSIBLE VENEREAL TUMOR SURGERY AND CHEMOTHERAPY IN A FEMALE LOCAL DOG WITH A HISTORY OF MACROCYTIC-HYPOCHROMIC ANEMIA

Canine transmissible venereal tumor (CTVT) is a malignant of the genital organs that transmitted to dogs through implantation cells in mucous membranes during mating, licking, biting, fighting, or various forms direct contact. The case animal 1.5 years old female local dog with body weight 10.45 kg complaint lump vaginal area for last 2 months and blood dripping from her vagina. Based on anamnesis, physical examination, supporting examinations including hematological it was found had hypochromic macrocytic anemia, cytology examination presence intranuclear intracytoplasmic CTVT vacuoles, histopathological revealed homogeneous lymphoblasts lymphocytes, mitotic cells, connective tissue stroma, so diagnosed Transmissible Venereal Tumor. Treatment done surgery chemotherapy. Preoperatively given atropine sulfate premedication at dose 0.02 mg/kg BW subcutaneously, anesthetized using combination ketamine-xylazine 12 intravenously, respectively. Surgery performed by excision mass area. Postoperatively, cefotaxime 25 administered intravenously twice day analgesic tolfenamic acid 4 intramuscularly once day. Followed second administering drug orally, namely antibiotic cefixime 5 five days, meloxicam 0.1 days.
